In October 2024, Black Tech Fest (BTF), Europe’s largest technology and culture festival, took centre stage at Drumsheds for its most expansive event yet. Hosted by Colorintech, the festival celebrates diversity, innovation, and inclusion in the tech industry, bringing together a dynamic mix of students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors. With its growing reputation and reach, BTF sought a venue that could accommodate its increasing guest numbers and ambitious programming, and Drumsheds was the ideal fit.
The goal for Colorintech was to scale up the event while ensuring the space would support multiple activations, showcase innovative brands, and provide room for live music and cultural content. Drumsheds, with its vast, flexible spaces, provided the perfect infrastructure to meet these needs. From Room X, which hosted multiple stages within one space, to the Ground Level for guest arrivals, and The Stores for exhibition stands, the venue allowed BTF to expand its show across multiple areas while keeping everything seamlessly connected. Vehicle access into Room X allowed a Tesla showcase to take place, adding a dynamic element to the event’s technology focus.
With its versatile layout, Drumsheds offered the flexibility for full event branding and provided dressing rooms, production offices, and all the infrastructure necessary for large-scale events. Broadwick’s experienced on-site team supported the production from the very beginning, ensuring everything ran smoothly despite the unique nuances of the building. Vibration Production managed the technical needs, including AV equipment, while N2 Display brought the event’s visual identity to life with expertly managed print and branding, and NOBA ensured reliable WiFi for smooth connectivity.
Black Tech Fest at Drumsheds successfully showcased the venue’s capacity to host large-scale, high-impact events while offering a tailored, flexible environment for every aspect of the festival. From immersive exhibitions to engaging discussions and performances, Drumsheds proved to be the ideal location for a festival that celebrates both culture and technology, setting the stage for future events of this scale.
