From 3rd-4th February 2024, Drumsheds welcomed AnimeCon UK for the first time in London. Previously held at the Birmingham NEC, the event brought together a vibrant community of anime fans, creators, and vendors for a weekend filled with cosplay, exhibitions, exclusive screenings, and panel discussions. The event featured everything from artist meet-and-greets and merchandise stalls to workshops and a lively afterparty.
With Drumsheds’ versatile layout, the event was able to seamlessly incorporate multiple spaces for different activities. Level 0 served as the registration area, while The Stores housed exhibition stands and catered to the diverse crowd. Room X featured the main stage with panels, talks, meet & greets, and even a silent disco, while Room Y was transformed into a lively afterparty venue, free of charge, thanks to collaborative efforts with Drumsheds.
Drumsheds’ experienced on-site team provided invaluable support throughout the event, helping to facilitate the smooth execution of the diverse activities. The space’s adaptability allowed for customised branding and catering options that met the specific needs of AnimeCon’s diverse audience. In addition, the pre-show free shoot offered valuable marketing materials, further driving ticket sales. With a seamless ticketing process provided by Project Farm and expert technical support from Vibration Production, AnimeCon UK was a huge success, setting the stage for future events of this scale at Drumsheds.
Drumsheds’ flexibility and extensive facilities helped make AnimeCon UK’s London debut a memorable and successful event.
